Nose: Walnut, barley sugar sweets and classic earthy peat notes. A touch of salt.
Palate: More BBQ smoke, more sugar, more slightly damp earthy notes. Hints of tropical fruit and spice.
Finish: Bitter orange peels on the finish.
Overall: Catches a good balance of “sweet” and “peat” loved by many.
Peated whisky from the Paul John range of single malts produced in Goa. This particular expression was matured in ex-bourbon barrels before being bottled at cask strength (a pleasing 55.5% ABV) without chill filtration. A prime example of the gorgeous whisky distilleries in India are producing.
