The first ten year old release from Glengyle distillery, the sixth sherry-matured release in Kilkerran’s Work in Progress series continues the theme of the fifth, showing how their relatively youthful spirit is ageing. Not only a great way of seeing how the whisky is developing, but also a great dram in its own right.
Earthy, metallic, oranges, some yellow fruit, salt, some mint, some hay and grass
Honey sweetness, red and yellow fruit, hay, salt, some peat
Metallic, some smoke, fruit lingers.

Since 2009 a ‘Work In Progress’ expression has been released every year as Glengyle, which was reconstructed this century, works towards a Kilkerran 12 Year Old. In 2013 however, we’ve been spoilt with two releases – one matured in bourbon casks as well as this excellent Sherry wood offering.
