The eagerly awaited third release of Kilchoman’s 100% Islay and it hasn’t proved to be the third difficult album. The barley is grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery. The whisky has been aged in a combination of fresh and refill bourbon barrels, obtained from Buffalo Trace, for over 4 years.
Very natural, flowers in the breeze on the nose. Pear drops. Smoke peeks around the corner and develops wonderfully
Peat smoke! Much more so than previous releases, fruit too, delicious!

A love letter to the traditional craft, Kilchoman 100% Islay is produced from barley “grown, malted, distilled and bottled at the distillery”. Originally, Kilchoman intended to produce all of their expressions in this fashion, and whilst that didn’t turn out to be viable, it’s fantastic to see these true ‘farm distillery’ releases continuing. 10,000 bottles of the 3rd Edition are available worldwide.
